They must have fixed that manually like some kind of hack, most pages need chrome 60+, twitter is a good example on how fast they change the code. Even if they manage to make it work under XP, it will stop working soon, javascript of 60+ is very different and have new functions that never existed on...

Hello, if you update blink you also need to update V8, you can download the source code and do that but it won't build / compile, you will get millions of errors, the code is very INTERLINKED and any change in blink must match v8, and the renderer SKIA also needs to be updated, so you end up updatin...

They may have a copy of the exact setup they used to build, that means they don't run gclient, they only run hooks when they add new files to source code. runhooks is a script that setups the build environment to be able to build, it is like having only the source code and using a script to create d...

Re: Some strange JavaScript bug

the problem is that gclient does several things like updating some pyton libraries, you need an exact setup of what was used then. So, you run gclient, it updates everything even third party tools, then you use git to roll back, then you leave third party tools updated to latest version so might giv...

Well, v54 has v48 on root, that was needed to be able to compile, build's took an hour back then and used microsoft cl.exe, between that time frame they changed to ninja compiler, that single change created tons of problems, actually the code is so 'dirty' that barely works. Yes, It works like some kind of license anyway and is very expensive, as you say they always find a way to save the stream so maybe using simpler and cheaper tech to protect the stream is better even if it's easier to crack, hackers always win anyway, might be better to save money lol
