infinite history vs default of 3 months

Post by gigel »

Hello @admin,

Thank you again for your titanic one man work!

Does Advanced Chrome keep history forever? Or can it be user adjustable?

I found that chrome-based browsers are limited to 3 months.

Hi gigel, advanced chrome works in the same way as chromium/chrome so you will get 90 days of history maximum, have not tried increasing it so it may be possible somehow.

Already tried, not possible because it is linked to google history on the cloud and changing the parameter disables google sync.

Sad

I don’t mind getting sync disabled as I don’t use it, anyway.

Is it tricky to create a flag to override it? Say someone knows for sure won’t be using sign-in to google account. Would then be possible to go to chrome://flags and flip “unlimited_history” there?

Creating a flag is kinda complex, not because difficulty but there are many files involved for just adding ON/OFF

The main problem will be the sync issues but there might be more problems because everything is configured for a max of 3months and most of the time is hard to prevent them, sometimes is only possible to find bugs until they hit you hard hehe
