Getting 'not secure' on amazon.co.uk

Post by mfarmilo » Fri Mar 03, 2017 8:35 am

I'm unable to load amazon.co.uk with Advanced Chrome as it has a slash through the 'https:' and says 'Not Secure' on the tab for that page. The site works fine in Firefox and Edge. The system clock is also fine. Any other suggestions what could be responsible?

Hi! the problem is common when system clock is not right but if you already check it is fine then maybe is something related to the root certificate of amazon.co.uk not being accepted by the browser, here is working fine, amazon.co.uk showing all green with:

Serial: ‎4f 51 ac 9e d8 29 f0 98 3c ed 73 52 ff 74 59 0d
valid from 23 oct 2016 to 29 dec 2017
Symantec class 3 secure server CA - G4

I am using advanced chrome custom version 52.14.5211.0 and you are right, almost stock version of advanced chrome 56.0.4213.0 is showing cert error.

Seems google devs introduced a bug into the cert validation, it is already reported at google forums:

https://productforums.google.com/forum/ ... huNspRjP04

http://superuser.com/questions/1146535/ ... -ssl-sites

Will update version 56.0.4213.0 to a new chrome version, thanks for reporting.

Seems your browser kept a cached version, it worked on edge because it did not had the page cached and downloaded the new page with the latest links.

The only problem I found is that version 59.0.3033.0 has some problems with old chrome profiles, it will say that settings are corrupted and will make your settings reset to default, there is no way to avoid this.

Check it out and report back, I did not try this versions fully, tested the following: SSL, flash, webgl, java ( on custom version only), html5 test, download system, all seem to be working fine.

Trying the new version now - the Amazon issue seems to have gone away so I'll use this as my main browser at the moment. Not had any issues with settings - settings page loads fine and doesn't ask me to reset.
